Database Roadshow Underway The
fourth annual Database Roadshow began in the spring of 2002 and continues
into fall. Participants learn about the databases that the Library Commission
purchased for libraries across the state and receive training on four
of the databases funded through the Library Commission: OCLC FirstSearch,
Books in Print with Reviews, Wilson OmniFile and Biographies Plus, and
Electric Library. The classes include discussion, database demonstrations,
and hands-on practice. Participants receive 4.5 continuing education credits.

NEBASE
Training Assessment Survey Seventy-six responses to the NEBASE Advisory Council Training Assessment Survey from libraries across Nebraska indicated that the most-requested training session was Understanding MARC. Other highly-requested training events included Cataloging Books Using OCLC, Cataloging Electronic Resources, Advanced ILL, and Authority Control. Survey responses showed: Using the survey results as a guide, NEBASE staff members at the Library Commission are scheduling training throughout the state.
