Shannon White Directs Network Services | ||

Shannon White was recently hired as Director of Network Services. She describes her responsibilities as coordinating Network Services staff, NEBASE activities, and statewide database licensing negotiation. After graduating from Ramsay High School in Birmingham, AL, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and History at Auburn University and earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied History and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of South Carolina. She is a native of Georgia and has lived in Augusta, GA; Pittsburgh, PA; Birmingham, AL; Auburn, AL; Columbia, SC; and Livingston, AL. As a little girl, Shannon remembers going to the library in Augusta, which was located in a historic home near what was then Augusta College. |
She worked in her high school library and in the bindery department as an undergraduate and in the Architecture Library at Auburn. Shannon became interested in librarianship by way of her interest in archives. She began her career in archives at The University of West Alabama. Prior to moving to Nebraska she held the position of Assistant Director at the Tutwiler Library. Shannon and her
fiancé (whose family is located in Axtell) have a dog named Dharma and a cat named Kitty. She enjoys gardening, camping, and reading regional fiction and nonfiction. Her favorite author these days is Bill Bryson and her favorite magazine is Southern Living. Shannon says that, so far, the best thing about living in Lincoln is the lack of freeways running through town. |
Jennifer Wrampe Assists with Documents | ||

Jennifer Wrampe recently joined the staff as a Documents Staff Assistant. Her responsibilities include checking in Federal Government Documents and adding them to the online system, as well as assisting with Nebraska State Documents. In addition, Jennifer's voice may be heard when you call the Library Commission, as she spends two hours a day working in the second floor reception/switchboard area. Between answering calls, she assists with a variety of administrative and communications projects. |
Jennifer is originally from Auburn and remembers visiting her local public and high school libraries. Jennifer holds a diploma in Tour and Travel from the Lincoln School of Commerce and recently moved back to Nebraska after living in California for one year. She prefers Nebraska living for proximity to her family and seasonal changes. She enjoys reading mysteries and romances, particularly those of Nora Roberts. Together with her husband, she enjoys camping and spending time with her family and friends. She is expecting their first baby at the end of January. |
