What is E-rate?

E-rate is a federal program that provides discounts to schools and libraries for Internet access (Category 1) and Internal Connections (Category 2) for these costs.

Discounts to libraries range from 20% to 90%. The E-rate discount for public libraries in Nebraska averages 70%. Currently, approximately 20% of Nebraska public libraries file for E-rate funding. There is approximately 3.5 million in E-rate funding available to Nebraska public libraries.
