Nebraska Books Honored by Center for the Book

The 2004 Nebraska Book Awards program, sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book (NCB), recognizes and honors books that are written by Nebraska authors, published by Nebraska publishers, set in Nebraska, or concerning Nebraska. This year's winners are:

  • Children: The Ring Bear, written by N.L. Sharp, illustrated by Michael T. Hassler Jr., Dageforde Publishing, Inc.
  • Young Adult: Ruth Foreman, Free to Drink the Wind: A Misty West Mystery, Beaver Books.
  • Cover Design/Illustration: Road Trip: Conversations With Writers, Shelly Clark and Marjorie Saiser (editors), Randy Barger (cover photo), Chris Bristol (cover design), The Backwaters Press
  • Fiction : Acts of Love on Indigo Road, Jonis Agee, Coffee House Press
  • Non-Fiction : Restoring the Burnt Child: A Primer, William Kloefkorn, University of Nebraska Press
  • Anthology : Road Trip: Conversations With Writers , Shelly Clark and Marjorie Saiser, The Backwaters Press
  • Poetry : Potato Soup, Twyla Hansen, The Backwaters Press
