Nebraska First to Offer Books in Print with Reviews to Libraries Statewide
Nebraska Library Commission Director Rod Wagner announced today at the 1998 Nebraska Library Association Convention in Grand Island that Books in Print with Reviews will be offered to all librarians in the state of Nebraska. "Starting November 1, Nebraska becomes the first state in the nation to offer statewide access to the most complete database of books available in print," Wagner stated. "Librarians across Nebraska will have access to 1.7 million bibliographic records and full-text reviews from leading sources, at no cost to the individual library." Unlimited access to this online resource via the Internet World Wide Web is provided for all Nebraska libraries through a subscription with the Gale Group and supported through state funding approved by Governor Ben Nelson and the 1998 Legislature for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998.
