Tutor.com's Live Homework Help™ Available Free Through March 17, 2007

Entry Categories: E-Resources

Tutor.com has partnered with YALSA to offer Live Homework Help™ to anyone interested at no charge for Teen Tech Week.

Description: Introduced in 2000, Live Homework Help™ is an innovative afterschool program that connects kids in grades 4-12 and early college with expert tutors for live, one-to-one help with homework assignments via the Internet in math, science, social studies and English.

Live Homework Help™ is currently offered at over 1,500 public library sites and afterschool organizations across the U.S. and Canada. Libraries are successfully using technology they already have to deliver a service that students and communities rave about. All children, regardless of their ability to pay or geography, can now receive the homework help they need through their local library—either at designated terminals at library branches or remotely from home with a library card. Students can use the service as often as they like—there are no limitations!

Students report they are increasing their confidence in their schoolwork, completing their homework assignments and improving their grades and, perhaps most importantly, they enjoy Live Homework Help™ so much that over 95% of them recommend it to their friends. During the school year, an average of 70,000 sessions is completed monthly; we project over 1,000,000 sessions for the next school year alone.

Trial Dates: The service will be available from March 4th to March 17th, from 1:00pm to 12:00 am Central Time, 7 days per week.
