RSS: A New Way of Communicating - Scottsbluff

Description
The new technology of RSS, also known as feeds allows users to subscribe to content that they wish to receive in a regular and timely manner. Feeds also allows information providers to send this information in the format necessary for users to subscribe. This three hour hands-on workshop will introduce attendees to both providing and consuming content via RSS.

During the workshop you’ll be signing up for a couple of free online services. One of these services will require you to respond to an e-mail sent to you as part of the sign-up process. Because of this you need to make sure you have an e-mail address that you can access from a remote location. This can be your work e-mail or other e-mail (HotMail, YahooMail, GMail, etc.) as long as you, and only you, can access it remotely. Please be sure you know how to do this before coming to class.

It is recommended, but not required, that you attend both this class and the I Blog, You Blog, Weblog scheduled on March 17, 9am - 12pm

Lunch is on your own.

Note: With costs being what they are these days we must stress that we need a minimum of five people per workshop in order to justify the travel costs for the instructor. As a result we appreciate any assistance you can provide in promoting these workshops and encouraging others to attend. Also, if you are planning on attending please do not wait to register as a decision on preceding with or cancelling the workshop will be made approximately two weeks prior.
