Stronger Together: Building Literacy-Rich Communities
A National Convening on Partnerships between School Districts and Public Libraries

What can be accomplished when schools and public libraries partner to provide better access to books and materials for all kids? Deep collaborations at the institutional level.

This national gathering of thought leaders and innovators from across the country will share where and how these collaborations are taking place, and explore the impact that they’re having on the institutions, communities and kids they serve.

Those already embarked on this work will share best practices and lessons learned. Those considering a similar path will get insight into how these collaborations plays out in real life, from the highest level strategic conversations and decisions that create commitment—often articulated in Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)—to the daily interplay of developing and delivering services. Attendees will emerge from this convening with a toolkit of resources and an action plan for creating momentum in their communities.

Who should attend?

Library professionals who want to partner at scale on collections and community access; education professionals, school administrators, library leadership, government and community stakeholders, school boards, funders to community and education initiatives.

Keynote Speakers: Chelsea Clinton, Author, Vice Chair, The Clinton Foundation; Karl Dean, Former Nashville Mayor, 2018 gubernatorial candidate for the State of Tennessee.
