|Join other Nebraska public libraries and attend our training workshop about special funding opportunities to help pay for new fiber connectivity to libraries. This workshop includes two sessions on, Aug. 2 and Aug. 5. You will participate via GoToWebinar with co-presenters Christa Porter, Tom Rolfes, and Holly Woldt. |
The Coronavirus pandemic amplified the importance of high-speed internet connectivity in rural Nebraska communities. Nebraska public libraries are providing critical Wi-fi internet access to students and community members during the pandemic. Unfortunately, many community libraries do not have adequate internet speeds to meet the connectivity demands required in their communities. This is a reality not just in Nebraska but also in other rural and urban areas across the country.
Libraries that do not have fiber for their internet service are strongly encouraged to consider registering for this workshop. The class size will be limited to 20 registrations and each registration will require the participant to attend both the Aug. 2 (9:00-12:00 CT) and Aug. 5 (9:00-12:00 CT) sessions. If registration closes, feel free to sign-up on the waiting list. We will be in contact with you if a registration slot opens and you are the next registration on the wait list.
REMEMBER initiating this process DOES NOT obligate any expenditure. You will be able to see what actual costs are for your library’s fiber upgrade by going through this process in order to make fully informed decisions.
This webinar is for Nebraska library staff only.
The Nebraska Library Commission will be using GoToWebinar to present both workshop online sessions. Login instructions are sent to registered attendees after registration closes.
The registration link for both days of the workshop is only available on the Aug. 2 calendar event entry. Be sure to add both Workshop Session 1 (Aug. 2) and Session 2 (Aug. 5) to your calendar.
