Main agenda items for the June 12, 2008 meeting include the following but may be modified at such meeting:

  • Welcome; Introductions, Minutes of the last meeting

  • Appointment of a committee chair and vice chair

  • Demonstration of NLS site for direct downloads

  • Outreach to younger readers and to schools:  how to keep younger readers active until the transition away from cassettes to digital formats?

  • Federal budget: What can we now expect in terms of a timeline for books on flash memory?  Same for direct downloads using Library of Congress web site?

  • Outreach to care facilities. We see high staff turnover within some facilities and a very elderly population. These can be challenges to delivering service to care facilities.  Do you have any insights to how to work best with care facilities?
