Making a Difference @ your library®

The Nebraska Library Commission launched an exciting new venture in the spring of 2001: Making a Difference @ your library®. Library Commission staff members serving on two-member teams visited public libraries in Nebraska over the course of a fourteen-month period between April 2001 and June 2002. During these visits, staff members facilitated two sessions:

  • A discussion with library staff members and other interested parties on how any Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grants or other grants made to the library during the past three years have been Making a Difference @ your library®. Where libraries had not received a grant from the Library Commission during that time, participants discussed local library service successes and challenges.
  • An open forum dialogue with the library staff, trustees, customers, and other interested community members to gain a better understanding of local issues, concerns, and goals, as well as to learn how state and regional services impact local library services.
