SPOTLIGHT

Employment Cost Indexes and Levels, 1975-95 (document # A-123*) provides data on two Bureau of Labor Statistics measures of employee compensation: The Employment Cost Index (ECI) and Employer Costs for Employee Compensation cost levels. It reviews recent trends in compensation costs and examines the structure of those costs in March 1995.

The ECI is a fixed-employment-weighted index which tracks quarterly changes in labor costs (wages, salaries, and employer costs for employee benefits), free from the influence of employment shifts among occupations and industries. The cost levels, in contrast, use current employment weights to produce information annually on the cost per hour worked of each component of compensation. Both measures are based on data collected in the same survey of establishments.

Supplemental Security Income for Children with Disabilities (document # A-178*) is organized in seven different chapters.

Chapter one provides general background on the SSI program

Chapter two describes a number of children who currently receive SSI

Chapter three traces the work of the Commission

Chapter four presents of Commission's recommendations in detail

Chapter five considers vouchers and electronic benefit transfer (EBT) systems as alternative means of support for children with disabilities and their families

Chapter six provides an overview of health care coverage for children with disabilities, including eligibility requirements for various programs and statistics on program participation Chapter seven says out a plan for future research

Hydrographic Report, 1990-1991 (document # A-165) provides a record of streamflow, diversions for irrigation, power, and reservoir storage in Nebraska in accordance with the Department of Water Resources statutory authority granted under Statutes 46-212, 46-227, and 46-234. The data presented includes mean daily discharges for streams and canals, and both daily and monthly reservoir storage values. Instantaneous and daily discharge values are expressed in cubic feet per second, monthly and annual discharge values and reservoir storage totals are expressed in acre-feet.

Report of the Executive Board of the Legislative Council Implementation of Public Access to Electronic Legislative Data as required by Legislative Bill 1243, Ninety-Third Legislature, Second Session 1994 (document # A-127) provides a description and explanation of the legislative information already available in electronic format on the Nebraska Legislative Shared Applications System (NLSIS). The report then goes on to discuss the enhancements which were made during the 1994 interim to NLSIS and to the Legislature's internal PC network. These enhancements are a first step in making some of the current on-line information more accessible and in putting additional information in an electronic format. In addition, the report discusses legislative information which was required in LB 1243 to be included in the implementation plan, but which will require further study before it can be made available in electronic format.
