CONTENTdm - May's Featured Collections

Entry Categories: Digitization & Preservation

Each month, three collections from the CONTENTdm Collection of Collections are featured on the CONTENTdm Web site. The featured collections for May are Empire Period Drama, Student Art in the Library, and Gerald Warner Taiwan Image Collection.

Included in the collection information below is a link to each organization’s record in the OCLC WorldCat Registry. OCLC’s WorldCat Registry allows libraries worldwide to manage and organize their data for vendors and third parties by creating and maintaining a comprehensive institutional profile in a single, Web-accessible location.

Empire Period Drama
University of Warwick Library
This collection contains 65 French plays from the Napoleonic Empire period in French history, 1800-1815. The collection was created by the University of Warwick Library and is taken from the Marandet Collection of 18th and 19th century French drama held in the University Library's special collections. All the plays in the collection are full-text searchable.

Student Art in the Library
Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne
This collection showcases two-dimensional artwork by IPFW students. Pieces are entered in a faculty-judged competition, with the winners and other selected pieces then shown in a semester-long exhibition in Walter E. Helmke Library. The first exhibition was held Spring 2007.

Gerald Warner Taiwan Image Collection
Lafayette College
The Gerald Warner Taiwan Image Collection is a photographic record of a US consul's impressions of urban and rural life in Taiwan under Japanese colonial rule. Totaling 340 photographs and postcards gathered by Warner between August 26, 1937 and March 8, 1941, these images provide a snapshot of Taiwan's hybrid culture of Chinese, Taiwanese, Austronesian, and Japanese influences.

These are just a few of the many outstanding digital collections created by CONTENTdm users.
