The Nebraska Library Commission (NLC) maintains several websites. All the information on these websites is believed to be accurate and reliable at the time of its inclusion; however, NLC assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions appearing in the information. Information provided should not be viewed as a substitute for independent legal research.

NLC websites include links to sites that are not controlled, maintained, or regulated by NLC, and, as such, NLC is not responsible for the content of those websites. Inclusion of links to outside sites on NLC websites should not be construed as endorsement by NLC of the information on those sites. NLC provides these links to assist people in locating information about library issues and Nebraska-related topics, and accessing authoritative research resources. If you feel that the content of an outside link is inappropriate, please report it through Ask A Librarian.

If a link no longer works, please report it through Ask A Librarian. Problems accessing databases within NebraskAccess should be reported to the NebraskAccess Team. Other technical problems with outside sites should be reported to the entity maintaining the site.

NLC determines whether external websites meet the purpose of our web portals or the specified informational purposes. NLC does not review or respond to unsolicited requests asking that links be added to its websites. Links to external websites and pages may be removed or replaced at the sole discretion of NLC, at any time without notice.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

NLC respects your privacy rights. We collect information for agency-related business purposes only on our websites. NLC does not sell information collected on these sites to third parties.

NLC maintains email listings for business purposes only. Listings are a result of using a specific NLC service or by requests made to NLC to place individuals, libraries, or other entities on mailing lists. NLC does not sell email information.

Unsolicited email to NLC may necessitate the use of your email address to respond to you. In carrying out agency business, we may store your email, email address, and a copy of our response. We may also share it with other agencies/groups in an attempt to respond to your inquiries/comments.

NLC collects data on Nebraska libraries related to agency business. This data may be shared as part of a state publication, with federal agencies, including the Institute of Museum and Library Services, or with other state library agencies. Forms used to collect information for various library-related purposes may use cookies that can be deleted after the form has been submitted.

Login information for the databases provided by NLC is only used for authenticating access. It is neither retained, tracked for usage within the databases, nor used for identifying the researcher. This includes passwords, driver’s license numbers, and State Identification Numbers.

We collect general statistics on website usage/visits in order to improve our web services. We do not collect/store personal information on the users of our site, other than as described above 

The NLC privacy policy applies only to our websites and not to sites that may be linked from/to ours. The NLC privacy policy does not apply to social media sites used by NLC. Please refer to those sites’ privacy policies to learn how they collect and use information about users.
