About Consumables

Station #1 - 3D Printer

This shows the 3D printer station (Station #1), which features two devices, the 3D printer and a desktop computer. These devices will be set up in the same proximity either on the same table or counter or on adjacent tables/counters. Each of the devices will need to be plugged into electricity. The computer will need internet access, ideally through a hard wired-port. Ideally, you would want to allow a minimum of 12 inches between the devices. An 6′ x 3′ table would work for this station.

Critical considerations: 3D printers emit some odors and your printer will need to be placed in an unenclosed section of your building—it is not suitable for a small space such as a closet. 3D printers are very susceptible to movement, so you might need to recalibrate the device if you shift it from one place to another.
